John Bender
A great portrait is more than just a “picture” of the subject.
Anyone with a camera can take a picture.
A great portrait reveals the essence of person. It says something about them.
My goal is to get great portraits – every time.
The big difference between our studio and our competition is the level that we will go to get a great portrait. It takes time to create great portraits – time to prepare for the portrait, time for me to get to know the subject, time to analyze their facial gestures, discover their personality, and then find ways to capture it. Additionally, creating great portraits requires the correct tools, great light, props and the knowledge to put it all together seamlessly.
When I formed Bender Photography in 1983 I decided that quality and service were the things that would separate my work from the rest. After all, there is far too much mediocrity in the world. I was always taught that if you’re going to do something, it’s a lot better in the long run to do it right.
Bender Photography has grown considerably since my humble beginnings over 30 years ago. Now there are two of us that operate the business. My wife, Dixie, shares the vision of providing excellent quality and service. Together we travel around the country to learn the latest techniques, find the coolest backgrounds and props, and keep abreast of the technological wave.
Dixie & I have assembled a staff of highly talented stylists, retouchers, and photo assistants. Our team’s passion is to make every one of our subjects look awesome.
I imagine that you are examining our website in anticipation of having portraits created. Should you choose us, you can rest assured that we will produce the best quality portraits available. Quality does not go out of style. It costs less in the long run, and is always appreciated by those who know the difference.
