Class Reunion Photos in the Poconos
Reunions are a tradition for many people. Be it high school, college, military, family, or any other groups. If you’ve bonded with a group of people who have all moved on through life, there is potential for a reunion.
At Bender Photography we have been creating great reunion photos in and around the Poconos as long as we’ve been in business. It’s fun to go to reunions even though we don’t really know the people that are in the reunion group. Everybody is getting reacquainted. Lots of hugs. Lots of smiles. Lots of memories of days past. And they are all together, once again, as a group.
Most of the reunions that we photograph are high school class reunions. We’ve photographed many classes from Stroudsburg, Bangor, East Stroudsburg, Pen Argyl. Those are “older” high schools that have had graduating classes since the 1920’s or so. Those schools were formed when one room school houses were consolidated into school districts. Early on in our career we photographed class reunions for classes that graduated in the 1940’s and 1950’s from Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg.
There are “newer” school districts in our area, too. Pocono Mountain School District and Pleasant Valley School district are the “new” districts in Monroe County. Pleasant Valley High School was formed probably 60 years ago from smaller community schools that taught kids from 1st through 12th grade
Recently we photographed the reunion for the Pleasant Valley High School Class of 1968. The graduating class was about 50 people. They had 18 that returned. And they also had fun.
However, we changed our tactics for that reunion a bit. For the past dozen or so years we would photograph the reunion group, run back to our studio, print the pictures, run back to the reunion with the finished pictures, and finally distribute the pictures to the attendees. If the reunion was any distance from our studio it would make for a lot of running. But it was necessary because we always provide a very high quality photographic print that’s going to last a very long time.
For the PV Class of 1968 we are taking our whole operation to them. Printer technology has come to a point where we can take a high quality printer on the road and quickly provide archival photographic quality prints that meet our high standards. This takes our service to a whole new level. Now we can travel quite a way from our Stroudsburg Studio and quickly turnaround group photos that the class members love.. The PV reunion was at Boulder View Tavern at Big Boulder. That's about a 45-50 minute ride from Stroudsburg. In the past that was about as far as we could go. With the new printer onboard we were able to print the pictures in less time than it would have taken to travel back to the studio working the old way.
So we are looking to do more reunions, and they don't have to be close to Stroudsburg anymore. So if you graduated from Lehighton High School, Jim Thorpe High School, Wallenpaupack, or any other school within an hour of Stroudsburg, we could be your reunion photographer. Give us a call!
